REGULATIONS FOR GEOSYNTHETIC
Determining the geosynthetic required for a given installation area is not, or only in a few cases, an exact parameterizable process. This is aided by regulations that provide industry-specific guidance on product selection, design, and installation.
ROAD TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
The most common system of concepts related to geotextiles is the GRK robustness class. The current UME 2-1.222 defines the parameters for the different GRK classes as follows.
RAILWAY STRUCTURE INSTRUCTIONS
A D.11. the railway substructure instruction also applies the GRK robustness classes introduced by UME 2.1-222, but further tightens it to specify higher loads under railway conditions.
REGULATIONS ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF LANDFILLS
A 20/2006. (IV.5.) Of the Ministry of Environment and Water on the construction of landfills defines the geosynthetics to be incorporated according to their stratification location, distinguishing between non-hazardous, hazardous and inert waste storage.
